    i liked the decor n the hotel, i thought it was very tastefully done. The staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotels location was great.

    the heating system sometimes had a tapping noise in the pipes, occasionally this would get on your nerves.

    Location.

    This hotel could be top notch but the luxury decor lacks the final attention to detail which would bring it to the standard it seems to seek to achieve. E.G. proper cable mangement, finishing of bathroom floor edges, attention to repairs needed E.G. bathroom floor tiles are wobbly. Staff need to be more discreet and a bit more professional. This from my experience of staying all over Europe. I enjoyed my stay but I think this hotel could make a little effort in a few areas to make all the difference. I hope it does: this is supposed to be constructive criticism!

    Massive spa bath in the room was a highlight. Noise from the busy road made it hard to sleep. Great location for hiking and exploring nearby areas.

    Excellent staff, helpful and friendly.

    Stopped at The Howbeck in the Glenridding Room, smaller than pictures suggest, tv is way to small, bathroom tatty with discoloured grout, damaged / loose floor tiles and unfinished / poorly finished tiling which really let it down. The room also overlooks next doors back yard which isn't the most pleasant and isn't mentioned in the advert.

    Great, friendly staff, who were very helpful at all times. Would throughly recommend staying there and would go back!!

    From the Booked.net website there were pictures of a swimming pool which I know I was not at this hotel after subsequent reading. Although I didn't ask about it whilst there, because it wasn't needed on this trip, I just felt that was slightly misleading or there could've been more information in the room about it?

    The location was perfect, just a two-minute walk from the bars and restaurants. I really enjoyed the spacious room with a comfy bed and a spa bath that was a highlight of the trip.
